Winter 2024: The Mammut Freeride Collection
Freeriding is a conscious decision to venture into the unknown. For euphoria and adrenaline. For juggling confidence in your own abilities and the uncertainty of new challenges. In the search for new lines, untouched deep snow and unforgettable descents, the demands on planning also grow: weather forecasts, snow conditions, avalanche risk, slope angles —everything has to be taken into account. The Mammut Freeride Collection 2024/25 is designed for the specific requirements of open terrain.
October 24, 2024
The Mammut Freeride collection 2024/25 not only impresses with ergonomic cuts and breathable fabrics, but also with functional details and ultra-durable protection. At the same time, it reduces the burden on the environment: the pattern for the Stoney collection is optimized and therefore uses less material. The innovative Mammut Loopinsulation is made from rope scraps from industrial rope production. The Tree-Wool base layer, made from 100% natural fiber, ensures optimal comfort, while the triple-certified Haute Route helmet offers reliable protection when skiing, ski mountaineering, and cycling.

What is Mammut Loopinsulation?
The innovative, polyester-based insulation material was developed in collaboration with the rope manufacturer Teufelberger. It consists of production scraps generated during the production of industrial ropes. The production scraps are processed into a sheet or cluster filling in a mechanical recycling process without chemicals. No adhesives or additional chemicals are used in the production of the filling.
"With Mammut Loopinsulation, we are on our way to reusing materials with a circular and resource-oriented mindset. This is the first generation that represents the springboard for the future," says Helena Theba, Material Management Lead at Mammut.

Note to editors: The Barryvox® S2 is embargoed until October 1, 2024. The device will be available from October 15, 2024.
New: Barryvox® S2 avalanche transceiver
Smaller, lighter, smarter, and faster than ever: The new Mammut Barryvox® S2 avalanche transceiver impresses in the field with its intuitive operation, 70-meter range, and new features that provide maximum efficiency and support during avalanche searches—even in complicated rescue scenarios. The new MIP (Memory in Pixel) display is easier to read in all weather and lighting conditions and is compatible with polarized sunglasses. Additionally, it is also more energy-efficient, which extends the battery life. The intelligent fine search with probe indication offers animated guidance and displays the burial depth, saving time and providing immediate feedback during the most challenging search phase. At six millimeters thinner, the Mammut Barryvox® S2 is significantly more compact without sacrificing search performance. This is notable because the search strip width directly depends on the size of the antennas and, therefore, also the transceiver size. The Interference Guard detects interference and either increases the transmission strength (for passive interference) or reduces interference signals from active electronic sources. For enhanced safety during a rescue, the avalanche transceiver features a Rescue SEND function and automatic transmission switching. This mode is used by all rescuers involved in a rescue who are not actively conducting an avalanche transceiver search.
The Barryvox® app makes installing firmware updates over the air a breeze. A new addition is the "Barryvox® Pocket Training Park", which enables users to train in realistic scenarios, improve their avalanche search skills through simulated training scenarios, and be optimally prepared for an emergency. This feature is ideal for novice and experienced users looking to improve or refresh their skills. Users can select individual or pre-defined scenarios and connect up to five devices for complex search exercises and group training.
