Seon, November 8, 2024 | Mammut has always stood for quality, safety, and innovation since 1862. The safety and protection of our athletes and consumers are at the heart of everything we do. Hence, we continuously test and improve our materials and products to uphold our high standards. During this process, we identified a potential issue with the power switch of the new avalanche transceivers Mammut Barryvox 2 and Mammut Barryvox S2 in some cases, and we therefore decided to recall all potentially affected products for inspection, and where applicable, repair or exchange.

Introducing the Core Protect Rope, Mammut unveils a revolutionary climbing rope that epitomizes the pinnacle of safety and innovation. Mammut Core Protect Rope: A milestone for climbing safety

Despite the high quality of modern climbing ropes, accidents involving severed ropes can still occur, particularly on alpine climbing tours, around sharp edges, or when navigating cracks. Even on sport climbing routes with aged, fixed carabiners, sharp edges pose a potential risk to the rope. The Core Protect Rope represents Mammut's response to these risks, marking a significant advancement in climbing rope technology.

Mammut presents the new Alugator Ultra, the lightest UIAA-certified avalanche shovel on the market. The award-winning Barryvox avalanche transceiver and a selection of highly specialized, certified probes and airbag systems complete the Essential 4, which can be relied on to perform when every second counts.

Mammut Avalanche Safety Winter 2023: the best of the best for the worst case scenario

Intuitive operation and cutting-edge technology are at the heart of Mammut's market-leading avalanche equipment. This is also the case with the new Alugator Ultra avalanche shovel, which was launched after almost three years of development. The first shovel of its kind to feature a welded construction and a blade just 1mm thick, it is made from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum. This is 90% as strong as stainless steel, but weighs just a third of it. Despite its low weight of 395 grams, it does not compromise on shovel blade size or robustness – guaranteed by UIAA certification.
